georgivelev.com has been redesigned.

After www.georgivelev.com had been online for a year I decided that my web site needed a new looks. I needed something more professionaly made.

I tried out some web templates from the Open source web designs. Unfortunately, none of those templates would do the job, as most of the OSWD designers produce blog templates. So I went completely by myself.

First, I shot the background picture. It was shot using a Canon PowerShot S2 IS camera. The picture had to be taken without flash. There were about 30 tries but finally I was satisfied by the result.

Next, I did the fancy sheet you can see on the right side of the background. It was done by using PhotoShop.

Lastly, I took advantage of the modern AJAX technology for transferring data between the browser and web server in the background. Thus, only small part of the web page gets reloaded and you don't see blank screens. As a web programmer myself, It was an easy job to do.
